This is an exclusive Collaboration between Maria Primolan and BowieGallery.com, we have added some unique techniques and colours to each and every Bolt we have designed. The end result is that no piece will be identical due to the Raku process, every piece has been hand made and is truly unique.
This Lightning Bolt Sculpture is called 'Starman' using a bright Orange, Blue and Copper colours, a glazed effect is added to the surface of the bolt.
Craters have formed on the surface of this bolt to add to the 'Starman' theme

The sculptures design is based on the iconic 'Flash' lightning Bolt, we are happy to customise and design a bolt to suit your needs, you decide the colours!
The sculpture is made of Ceramic Clay and has undergone the Raku process, it is very resistant and strong.
All Sculptures are made by Maria in Italy, imported into the UK and shipped Worldwide!

Process-
The Sculpture remains white after the first fire and is colored after the second fire.
During the Raku process some small cracks or little black points appear on the sculpture, this adds beauty and character and with this technique it makes every piece unique. The Raku process creates very strong sculptures with the differing high fire temperatures used when creating this piece.
After first fire colour is added, then added to the sculpture is the “glaze” and it is put in the second kiln. Until it hits 970 degrees. Then we can open the kiln and put the sculpture on a “bed of leaves, wooden dust..” and cover for 2-3 minutes, here the chemical reaction occurs, then the sculpture is unveiled and we discover the final product, and finally it is polished.
